While Tesla is the primary make of electric vehicles, the list of electric vehicles grows each year as other makes jump on board. What other makes are out there and what features do they have that makes them stand out?
Affordable Options:
Chevy Bolt EUV: This is known to be the most affordable EV on the market at just below $30,000. This car also features one of the highest ranges of an EV car at 259 miles on full charge. It is a smaller car, so the compact vehicle mayn’t be ideal for someone looking for extra cargo space.
Nissan LEAF: With only 150 miles on a full charge, this vehicle is lighter on range, but with their e-Pedal technology, you save range by conserving the energy of the typical 2-pedal vehicle. This vehicle also has a particular charger that can be more challenging to locate compared to more popular makes/models.
Hyundai Kona Electric: This vehicle offers either a short range or long range battery. The long range battery can get you up to 260 miles on a full charge and has a bit more room than the other two options above. This vehicle varies in price depending on chosen features, but is generally on the $33K-$41K price range.
Luxury Options:
Rivian R1S & R1T: If you are looking for an electric truck that offers a smooth ride, long range, and endless technology features, the Rivian brand is an ideal match for you. Known as the “adventure truck” these vehicles are great for a camping trip with features like a portable speaker, flashlight, multiple outlets, and much more. A bit harder to come by, these trucks will be a more expensive option, but is sure to please the consumer.
Audi E-Tron: This luxury electric SUV is built with excellent quality, a range of about 220 miles on a single charge, and can go from 0 to 60 in just 5.5 seconds.
Porsche Taycan: A high-performance electric sports car that can go from 0 to 60 in just 2.6 seconds with a range of 227 miles on a single charge, and boasts a luxurious interior with high tech features. By using fast charging, you can gain 60 miles of range in just 5 minutes using a 270kW DC fast charger.
Ford Mustang:With an impressive range of 300 miles on a single charge, this EV has become a popular option. Especially since Ford customers are loyal consumers, this Mustang has become one of the more common EV’s on the road.
Volkswagon ID4: With one of the most spacious interiors, this VW is a beautiful option with decent range at 250 miles. There isn’t as much technology as some EVs but is more adaptable for someone who is not interested in too much advanced technology.
